Saoirse Domestic Violence Services launch the Saoirse Inspiring Women of Ireland Awards, a major fundraising event celebrating of all the amazing, inspiring women across our communities and our country.
The awards will take place on Saturday 25th November 2023, the international day of elimination of violence against women and girls, bringing it back to what its really all about for us.
Over one in four women in Ireland who have been in a relationship have been abused by a current or former partner, and although in recent years there has been more action taken to support the domestic violence sector in Ireland, there can never be enough light shed on this issue that almost one third of women in Ireland face everyday.
Fundraising officer for SDVS, Aisling Finn explains “We want the event to bring the issue of Domestic Violence and Abuse to the forefronts of peoples minds each year and also highlighting our services so those who need us know where to find us.”
“The event itself is a major fundraising opportunity for SDVS, and will allow us to continue to give the support needed so these women and children experiencing domestic violence and abuse can change their lives.”
