Domestic violence occurs in all sections of society crossing all age, cultural, religious and gender boundaries. Here in Ireland, it is reported that as high as 1 in 4 women has experienced domestic violence at some point in their lives, whether in childhood, past or present relationships.
It is well known that because of the huge level of under-reporting about violence in the home, statistics like these are only the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the actual incidence of Domestic Violence in society.
Request for Tender for Research
SDVS wishes to invite researchers to tend for a research project that will provide a thorough examination of domestic violence in the Dublin 10 area.
The research will aim primarily to:
- Identify the extent and prevalence of Domestic Violence and Abuse (DVA) in D10 area.
- Identify the reasons why the D10 area has/seems to have a more pronounced presentation of DVA and complicating factors in comparison to other similar areas of Dublin.
- Provide detailed information and analysis on the gap between service needs/demand and service delivery.
- Identify recommendations on best practice models/approaches to address the gap in service provision and meet needs in the area.
